Recipe for making chili

 Here is a recipe for making chili:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup of beef or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, jalapenos


Instructions:

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, red kidney beans, black beans, beef or chicken broth, chili powder, and cumin.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the flavors have melded together.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the chili in bowls and top with shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, or jalapenos if desired.
