Here is a recipe for making chili:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1 can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup of beef or chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, jalapenos
Instructions:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, red kidney beans, black beans, beef or chicken broth, chili powder, and cumin.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the flavors have melded together.
